The Order of the Virtuous Blood quest in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion offers players an intriguing narrative filled with deceit, vampire hunting, and unexpected plot twists. Operating out of the Imperial City, this secret society tasks the Hero with eliminating what appears to be a dangerous threat lurking within the capital. Navigating this quest efficiently requires understanding how to initiate the storyline, investigate the evidence, and make the right choices to earn maximum rewards.

Starting the Quest in the Imperial City

To begin this side quest, your character must first reach a Fame level of at least 5. Once this threshold is met, explore the Imperial City's Temple District until a woman named Ralsa Norvalo approaches you. She will ask for your assistance on behalf of her husband and direct you to Seridur's house nearby.

Inside the basement of Seridur's house, you will meet the members of the Order of the Virtuous Blood. Seridur explains that a local citizen named Roland Jenseric is secretly a vampire responsible for a recent murder. He requests that you hunt down Roland and put an end to his threat.

Investigating Roland Jenseric's House

Before heading out blindly, break into Roland's home located in the Temple District to gather evidence. Searching the interior reveals a love letter sitting on a table that points toward a remote hideout. Reading this note updates your quest marker to Roland's cabin, located in the forest east of the Imperial City.

Upon reaching the secluded cabin, you can confront Roland directly. While you have the option to kill him immediately, listening to his side of the story reveals a major turn in the narrative. Roland claims that Seridur is the actual vampire and was responsible for the murder of Roland's lover.

Exposing the Real Threat and Clearing Memorial Cave

If you choose to believe Roland, he advises you to speak with Phintias at the First Edition bookshop in the Market District. Raising Phintias' disposition allows you to learn that Seridur frequently visits Memorial Cave outside the city. Traveling to Memorial Cave puts you face to face with several vampires and undead creatures guarding the area.

Navigating through the depths of the cave leads directly to Seridur, who admits his true identity before turning hostile. Defeating him eliminates the true mastermind and secures justice for Roland. Be prepared for a tough fight, as Seridur utilizes high movement speed and fire-based magical attacks.

Completing the Quest and Collecting Rewards

After defeating Seridur, return to Roland's cabin to deliver the news of your victory. Roland will thank you for clearing his name and ask to meet back at Seridur's basement in the Imperial City. Returning to the headquarters allows Roland to assume leadership of the organization.

As a reward for your efforts, you receive the Ring of Sunfire, an enchanted item providing spell reflection and disease resistance. Additionally, you become an honorary member of the Order, allowing you to sell any collected Vampire Dust to Roland for a permanent price of 250 gold per unit.
